Putting sustainability into practice
REGIONALITY & MINDFULNESS
Most of our raw materials come from Switzerland and Europe. We work with more than 300 contract farmers from Switzerland, among others. We also support regenerative agriculture and prioritise quality over quantity. A flower strip ensures more biodiversity and healthier soil. Our organic and IP quota is currently 10%.
Any surplus food is made available free of charge to associations or charitable organisations such as ‘Tischlein Deck Dich’ or the ‘Tafel’ food bank.
ENERGY FROM SUSTAINABLE RESOURCES
Our goal by 2026 is to reduce absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 21% (Scope 1 and 2). We are implementing a wide range of measures to achieve this: In addition to the expansion of photovoltaic systems on the roofs of our sites, we also utilize some food waste as biogas. In order to prevent and reduce waste, we follow the ‘TopX’ lean management approach in all our production facilities.
SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING
As a matter of principle, we utilise every opportunity to reduce packaging material. Our aim is to make 50% of all end consumer packaging recyclable and to reduce the amount of plastic used in production to 15%. We have already successfully introduced some measures. For example, most of our packaging is FSC-certified, 85-90% of bowls and cups have been converted to rPET and we have been able to save 3 tonnes of plastic waste per year by eliminating cutlery.
